Plot

On a birthday he'll forever carry in his memory, 8-year-old Joe finds himself the object of relentless teasing by his schoolmates, their torment accentuated by his conspicuous lack of birthday gifts. Overwhelmed by the mockery, Joe retreats to the sanctuary of the school clinic, where he succumbs to sleep, a solitary wish echoing in his mind - for everyone in the world to simply disappear. Awakening in a school that's eerily deserted, Joe is initially filled with a sense of wonderment, his childlike mind grappling with the possibility that his wish might have been granted. However, this seemingly innocent fantasy soon fractures, replaced by an ominous reality far more chilling than the notion of being the last person on Earth. As this fateful birthday unfolds, Joe is confronted by an event so dark, it shatters his newly-found solitude, thrusting him into a reality that transcends his juvenile understanding. This is no ordinary birthday, and for young Joe, the world will never be the same again.
