In the quaint tapestry of an unremarkable Polish town, Maria and Tomek, a couple in their prime, have been interwoven in the bonds of matrimony for a decade. Their lives echo with the rhythm of contentment and professional satisfaction; Maria, a dedicated town hall worker and Tomek, a talented designer. They are meticulously crafting their nest, an apartment echoing their shared dreams, while joyously anticipating the arrival of their unborn child. All seems serene in their world, an untouchable bubble of happiness, until an unforeseen storm threatens to shatter it all.
One fateful day, the town's mayor, a man whose admiration for Maria had long crossed the bounds of propriety, violates her in the most horrific way. Maria, trapped in a whirlpool of shock and shame, makes the heartbreaking decision to bury her trauma, not involving the police, and more significantly, keeping it from her husband, Tomek.
As Maria grapples with the monstrous secret she carries, her relationship with Tomek is subjected to an excruciating test. Tomek, sensing the shift in his wife, is driven by a burning desire for justice, yet remains painfully oblivious to the identity of the perpetrator.
