Yet, amidst their abundant blessings, they yearn for the one gift that eludes them - a child of their own. Embracing every conceivable method, from harmonious New Age chants to the punctuated rhythm of acupuncture, they set out in their fervent pursuit of parenthood. Amidst this whirlwind quest, their love life transforms into a fitness regimen, with ovulation charts reigning over romantic spontaneity as they surrender themselves to the cold precision of medical science.
Parallel to their reproductive marathon, Sam finds himself feeling adrift in his professional life, yearning for a new creative outlet. A screenplay seems the perfect escape, but the daunting specter of writer's block lurks nearby. Inspired by the whimsical wisdom of his free-spirited friend Druscilla (Dame Emma Thompson), Sam embarks on a personal journey inwards for inspiration and finds it in their very struggle - a lighthearted comedy centered on a couple's quest for a child. Lucy, however, is stunned and vehemently opposes him using their intimate journey as comedic fodder. As the tension escalates, their enduring affection is then thrust into the crucible of trial, testing the resilience of their love with unexpected outcomes.
