Plot

On the eve of his 50th birthday, Marcos, a disillusioned writer ensnared in the clutches of unfulfilled dreams, finds himself at the crossroads of life. Instead of a stream of well-wishes, he is confronted with an unwelcome extortion threat from the Chinese mafia, threatening the existence of his restaurant, and an unexpected wedding invitation from the only woman he ever held dear, 30 years in the past. With the echoes of a love long lost and the weight of his problems bearing down on him, Marcos makes the impulsive decision to embark on a cross-country journey, chasing the ghost of his past love and seeking solace among old friends at the wedding. Unbeknownst to him, he's not set to undertake this journey alone. Thrown into the mix is Fernando, an 18-year-old delivery boy, whose youthful irresponsibility and starkly contrasting personality promise to make the journey anything but smooth. As they navigate the long stretches of road before them, Marcos and Fernando find themselves locked in a fraught race against time, each stop a test of their polar-opposite tastes and temperaments. The journey becomes a balancing act of patience and tolerance, the destination a test of time. The question remains, will they conquer their differences and the ticking clock, reaching the wedding on time, or will their clashing personalities send them veering off course? "Made in China" is a tale of unexpected companionship, a quest for love revisited, and a journey that makes one question if the destination is worth the ride.
