Lucky Terror (1936)

In the chill of snow-capped mountains, the audacious Lucky Carson stumbles upon a fierce chase led by the nefarious Bat Moulton and his gang, pursuing the hapless Jim Thornton. Choosing discretion over valor, Lucky takes cover, only to be caught off guard when Thornton doubles back, threatening him at gunpoint for his fresh horse. Fate intervenes when the startled horse rears, hurtling Thornton off a cliff. This grim incident exposes a startling secret - gold in Thornton's saddle bags. A mystery begins to unravel, as Lucky realizes the true motivation behind the deadly chase. Journeying forth on Thornton's horse, Lucky crosses paths with a vibrant traveling Medicine Show run by Doc Haliday, where he showcases his skills as a sharpshooter. Here, he meets the charming entertainer Ann Thornton, the niece of the deceased. The plot thickens as Moulton and his gang arrive, claiming ownership of the Bonanza Mine, previously shared by Ann and her late uncle. Suspicion casts a shadow on Lucky, as Moulton accuses him of the murder and theft of Thornton's gold. In a twist of fate, Lucky finds himself incarcerated with the town's only lawyer, Wheeler, a perennial drunk. As the trial proceeds, Lucky skillfully implicates Moulton and his men for chasing Thornton. Wheeler, misunderstanding Lucky's plea of innocence, advises him to flee, which he does. The story takes a dramatic turn as the coroner dismantles Moulton's testimony, leading to the jury ruling Thornton's death as accidental. The judge orders Moulton to halt his activities on the Bonanza Mine, but the news of Lucky's acquittal arrives too late, as he is already on the run. Meanwhile, Moulton's gang, still convinced of Lucky's guilt, hunts him down, leading to a heated chase. As the chase ensues, Ann and the Sheriff discover Jim Thornton's diary at the mine. The entries reveal Moulton's previous incarceration of Thornton after striking gold, shedding light on the circumstances of Thornton's escape with the gold. In a riveting climax, Lucky finds himself at the mercy of Moulton's gang, who intend to dispatch him off a cliff unless he reveals the hidden gold. As the plot hurtles towards its conclusion, Lucky must rely on his wits and the pursuit of justice to survive.
