Plot

In the bohemian heart of Greenwich Village, a chance encounter on the bustling streets sees David Grant, a man of mystery, crossing paths with Jean Newton, his unsuspecting neighbour. A spur-of-the-moment good luck wish unexpectedly binds them in a partnership based on an Irish Sweepstakes ticket. David, however, places a peculiar caveat on their agreement - should they win the whopping $150,000 prize, they must embark on a grand world tour as a unique "experiment". Jean, although hesitant, agrees to David's whimsical condition, much to the chagrin of her brutish fiancé, Fred, who reluctantly consents to safeguard the ticket. As luck would have it, they draw a horse, prompting Fred to press for the sale of the ticket. Despite his insistence, they refuse, only to see their horse lose the race. To Jean's dismay, she discovers that Fred had betrayed her trust and sold her half of the ticket. Bound by a sense of fairness, she insists on splitting the $6000 proceeds with an unsuspecting David. Touched by her honesty, he surprises her with a car purchased from her share of the money, leading Jean to agree to a modest version of their original world tour - a trip to Niagara Falls, where they check in as siblings. Unbeknownst to Jean, David harbours a secret - he is a renowned painter, living incognito after a three-year stint in prison. The plot unfolds with thrilling twists and turns as the duo navigates their unconventional partnership, their journey peppered with surprises, betrayal, and a growing bond that transcends their initial agreement.
