Plot

In a twist of fate, Bill Overton and Cora Johnson's lives intersect at an employment office, both in pursuit of work. Their encounter is brief, their circumstances dissimilar. Bill, an ordinary man, yearns for a fun-filled life, but his capricious nature has left him jobless. Cora, on the other hand, is a wealthy heiress, searching for work not out of necessity, but as a means to discover herself, to break free from her gilded cage. Cora has spent her life rejecting numerous marriage proposals, the latest from Joe Hilton, as she strives to find the thrill that has been absent from her privileged existence. Encouraged by her father, Calvin Jordan, a steel tycoon, she embarks on a journey to find that elusive spark, the adrenaline rush that life owes her. Determined to make it on her own, Cora swears to resist the temptation of returning home, even if she ends up penniless. As destiny would have it, Bill and Cora's paths cross again on a park bench, both broke and homeless. Despite their dire circumstances, Bill finds himself drawn to Cora, viewing her as his lucky charm, a beacon of hope that promises the excitement he craves. Cora, meanwhile, sees in Bill the adventure she's been longing for. As they navigate through this unexpected night, the real test lies in whether they can carry this magical connection into the harsh reality of daylight, into the sobering world of reality.
