Geri's Game (1997)

An old man is playing chess entirely by himself in a park, but he puts in the commitment to playing out the role of each player without forethought. The white player is pensive, thoughtful, and strategic; while the black player makes impulsive and aggressive moves with frequency. As the old man's portrayal of the two players become more dramatic, they split off into their own personalities altogether. Black's relentless assault on the board seems to have white cornered and fatigued, but is it possible that he has a gambit planned that could turn the whole game on its head?

Geri's Game is an animation movie featuring Bob Peterson and directed by Jan Pinkava.
