Love Serenade (1996)

In the sleepy hamlet of Sunray, nestled by Australia's tranquil Murray River, life revolves around fishing and the mellifluous rhythms of the local radio station. From the urban cacophony of Brisbane, arrives D.J. Ken Sherry, a man in his mid-40s, thrice divorced, with a visage as stark as a hatchet. His enigmatic charm captivates the sisters living next door - the shy, 20-year-old Dimity, who spends her days serving in a scarcely visited Chinese restaurant, and the effervescent Vicki-Ann, a hairdresser who weaves dreams of a blissful future with Sherry from the threads of his mere presence. Each sister, in turn, experiences a night under the stars with Ken - Dimity cherishes the illusion of a romantic relationship, while Vicki-Ann revels in the belief of an impending engagement. However, this romantic tableau begins to warp when Dimity senses something fishy lurking beneath the surface.
