Plot

In the sleepy outskirts of a small town, Eve Stuckley, a humble diner waitress, finds herself in a stagnant life. Her days are consumed by a thankless job at the Hog-Chow Diner and a longing for the town's local heartthrob, Jeff Sweeney. Just as Eve musters the courage to pursue her dream man, the sultry Linda Avery cascades into town, instantly turning heads and raising the temperature. The simmering heat wave is a mere flicker compared to the inferno ignited by this love triangle. Both Jeff and Eve's simple-minded brother, Chuck, find themselves entranced by Linda. Yet, in a twist of fate, Linda only has eyes for Eve. Eve's confidante, Alma Kerns, a romance guru trained by her mortician lover, Red Bishop, urges Eve to exploit Linda's fascination with her to win over Jeff. As Eve navigates this tangled web of affection, the situation thickens when Linda confides in Jeff about her preference for Eve. Feeling slighted, Jeff attempts to rally Chuck to his cause, promising to "save" Eve. However, Chuck dismisses this claim as a part of their playful rivalry. What ensues is a struggle for Eve's heart, as Jeff tries to stake his claim and Linda retaliates with an alluring proposition. The town finds itself ablaze with an unprecedented passion, causing hearts to open in the most unexpected ways. In this whirlwind of love, rivalry, and self-discovery, the lives of these small-town denizens will be forever altered.
