In the quaint town of Conway, Leah Waddell lights up local television screens as an on-air weather girl. Yet, her heart yearns for the thrill of actual forecasting, a role Chris, the station's chief meteorologist, insists she lacks the experience for. Amidst the stagnancy of her love life, Leah bravely decides to unfurl her wings, leaving her parents' nest, halting her dating endeavors for a year, and committing to her meteorology degree and weather forecasting mastery. No sooner does she make this resolution than she finds herself surrounded by an unexpected surge of male attention. Among these is Mark Crawford, her new neighbor, freshly transplanted from his father's dairy farm to the urban jungle for a consulting job. Mark's rural wisdom and intuitive approach to weather prediction strikes a chord with Leah, weaving a platonic rapport as they navigate their respective one-year plans. As time unfurls, their bond deepens, and unspoken romantic emotions begin to bloom, threatening to disrupt their carefully planned lives. The specter of Mark’s past, in the form of a former girlfriend, Rochelle Crosby, reemerges, causing ripples in their blossoming friendship. Mark also grapples with the decision of whether to return to his rural roots.
