Love Go Go (1997)

Ah-Sheng, a humble baker with a heart full of song, nurtures a burning ambition to compete in a televised singing competition, in spite of his less than impressive vocal abilities. His life takes an interesting twist when he crosses paths with Li-Hua, a childhood friend who sparks a flood of memories and long-forgotten feelings. Lost in the whirl of his past, he's unable to disclose their shared history, as Li-Hua fails to recognize him, causing Ah-Sheng to retreat into the shadows, watching from afar as she frequents his bakery for her beloved lemon pies. Their shared past is filled with innocent investigations into the myth of the "Invisible Man" - a mystery which they pursued passionately. However, Li-Hua's sudden disappearance on the eve of their graduation birthed a fanciful notion in Ah-Sheng's heart that she had transformed into their mythical Invisible Man and had been his silent companion ever since. With their unexpected reunion, Ah-Sheng is granted a golden opportunity to seize, as his dormant affection for Li-Hua rekindles. Determined to convey his love, he decides to leverage his participation in the cable TV singing contest as a platform. Caught in a tug-of-war between his past and present, Ah-Sheng's journey is a charming exploration of love, friendship, and the power of belief.
