Plot

In the heart of Madrid, staunchly conservative banker Gregorio passionately cheers for Real Madrid and upholds his right-wing ideologies. His life is a colorful tapestry woven with threads of his understanding wife María and their three distinct children. Sandra, the eldest, is married to Jordi, a devout supporter of Barça, Real Madrid's prime adversary. Alicia, their free-spirited daughter, is romantically entangled with Leo, an anti-establishment Andalusian dreadlock. Carlos, their sensitive youngest, is in a committed relationship with Eneko, a Senegalese-born Basque man. When María is tragically snatched away by a sudden accident, the family migrates south to the tranquil town of San Lúcar de Barrameda, Andalucia, to lay María to rest. Heeding María's last wish, the family embarks on a weekend retreat to smoothen their rough edges. The peaceful journey, however, soon spirals into chaos as the family's secrets unravel. Sandra carries a new life within her and plans to move to Barcelona with Jordi for work. Alicia contemplates ending her relationship with Leo, only to find herself drawn towards Alejandro, a charming tourist visiting the town. Carlos and Eneko decide to navigate the path of matrimony. Amidst the turmoil, Gregorio, guided by the eccentric Father Salcedo and María's ghost, grapples with his children's life choices. He embarks on a journey of acceptance, learning to embrace his uniquely diverse sons-in-law. The film, "Lord, Give Me Patience", is a heartfelt exploration of family dynamics, acceptance, and the unyielding bonds of love.
