Plot

In the heart of southern Italy, the Cantone family, deeply rooted in tradition and Catholic values, are the proud owners of a flourishing pasta factory. The patriarchs, Vincenzo and Stefania Cantone, are preparing to pass the reins of the family enterprise to their two sons, Antonio and Tommaso. Tommaso, the younger son who has returned from his supposed business school in Rome, intends to reveal his own life-altering news at the dinner. He confides in Antonio about his true aspirations; he's not a budding businessman, but an aspiring writer who has submitted his first manuscript to a publisher. More significantly, he is gay and wishes to stay in Rome with his lover, Marco. Convinced their conservative parents will reel from this revelation, Tommaso is thrown off guard when Antonio, who has been dutifully immersed in the family business for years, beats him to the punch by dropping a shocking bombshell of his own. The aftermath sees Antonio disowned and Vincenzo suffering a mild heart attack, leaving Tommaso with no choice but to stifle his truth and reluctantly step into the role of the family factory's savior as his father recovers. Life takes a chaotic turn when Tommaso's vibrant, openly gay friends from Rome, including his lover Marco, come to visit. His efforts to juggle his newly imposed responsibilities and his authentic self spiral into a riotous and heartrending journey. Meanwhile, the family’s matriarch, the founder of the pasta factory and known as the family's unpredictable "loose cannon," harbors a well-guarded secret of her own, poised to add yet another layer of intrigue to the unfolding family drama.
