Chasing Amy (1997)

Holden and Banky have grown up together and are both comic book artists. Everything is going great until the friends meet a fellow comic book artist, Alyssa. Holden falls in love with Alyssa, which puts a strain on his friendship with Banky. Holden holds out and hopes he'll have a relationship with Alyssa, even though she's told him she's a lesbian.
