Plot

In the wake of a devastating train wreck on a fateful Friday in Adelaide, the lives of three news reporters become intertwined with an artist and a train driver, each grappling with their personal tragedies. Nick, a seasoned photojournalist, is confronted with a cancer diagnosis, setting his life on a path of introspection. Meanwhile, Andy, a writer and father of two, struggles with a strained relationship with his ex while coming to terms with his girlfriend Anna's unexpected pregnancy. Then there's Phil, an editor, who suddenly realizes he's been neglecting his children's formative years. Simultaneously, Meryl, a card illustrator haunted by imaginings of disasters, becomes an actual witness to a fatal train accident. Here, she crosses paths with Nick, spawning a tumultuous relationship that unfolds over the ensuing three days, prompting them both to reassess their desires and needs in life. The ensemble is rounded out by the grieving loved ones left in the aftermath of the accident: Nick's mother, Andy's estranged family, the deceased man's girlfriend, as well as the train driver and his son. Each character is bound to another by the tragic train accident, their lives spinning in a web of sorrow and loss. Amid this turmoil, they are faced with a pressing question: Can deliberate actions spark a glimmer of hope in their gloomy world?
