Plot

In the heart of a small American town, the aftermath of a devastating coal mine accident reverberates, leaving the community scarred and deeply traumatized. The calamity claims the lives of several miners, the echoes of their loss resonating in every corner. Amidst the turmoil, the mining executive responsible for the tragedy, Bill Doyle, retreats into denial, dismissing the grievance of the mining families with contemptuous indifference. However, his wife Diana and son JT are painfully aware of the truth. Haunted by guilt and alienated from her former circle of affluent friends, Diana finds solace in an illicit affair with Amos, the lone survivor of the accident. Carrying the burden of the disaster in his limping stride, Amos lives a life shadowed by the looming death of his father. Meanwhile, JT grapples with fear and anger, apprehensive of his father's impending legal fate and lashing out at the children of the mining families, particularly young Owen Briggs. Owen, a boy thrust into premature adulthood by the loss of his father in the accident, navigates life under the care of his grieving mother, bad-tempered aunt, and his younger brother, James, who has Down's Syndrome. A single incident in the woods involving JT pushes the tension to a boiling point, unraveling a tragic chain of events that ropes in the lives of Owen, Amos, and Diana in a web of secrets. As the town struggles under the weight of loss and guilt, the sudden disappearance of a teenage boy stirs the pot, drawing together the lonely wife of the mine executive, the surviving miner, and a local boy. The interconnected lives weave a tapestry of secrets, lies, and betrayal, painting a poignant portrait of a community in crisis. In "Little Accidents", the quiet despair of a town haunted by a disaster unfolds, shedding light on the human capacity for resilience, redemption, and rebirth.
