Plot

In the buzzing antechamber of a hospital, a young boy stands on the precipice of grief, yearning for a final moment with his ailing mother. The world around him morphs into a disturbing spectacle, a dissonant circus that spins and echoes, pushing him away and denying him the solace of his mother's final touch. "Le Cirque" leverages the power of rotoscoped renderings reminiscent of charcoal sketches, combined with 3D and object animation techniques, creating an eerily lifelike experience. Color, in this deeply emotional film by Nicolas Brault, is not merely a visual element, but a metaphorical tool, subtly conveying the warmth of maternal love and the lingering sweetness of its memory. Drenched in heartfelt honesty, this deeply personal film paints a poignant picture of a child grappling with the incomprehensible reality of his mother's impending death, in a manner that is both compelling and deeply unsettling.
