In the secluded depths of Kentucky's backwoods, 17-year-old Eli finds himself living a life far removed from the familiar as he and his family settle on the isolated farm of an enigmatic local hermit. The uncharted forest bordering the farm soon lures Eli into its mysterious grasp, where he crosses paths with the enchanting, enigmatic Amanda, a girl who appears to be the embodiment of perfection. However, when Eli stumbles upon a chilling sight of decaying bodies swinging from the trees, he is plunged into a harrowing realization. The forest, with its eerie tranquility, and the beguiling Amanda, both harbor menacing secrets that are as dark as the forest's deepest corners. Suddenly, Eli finds himself trapped in a horrifying reality, a waking nightmare where the boundaries of life and death are smeared with blood. Engulfed in an unending terror that seems to seep from beyond the grave, Eli realizes that escape might be an illusion.
