In the heart of Montreal, Sara Leblanc finds herself entangled in a strained relationship with her mother, Claire, within the confines of their family-owned pet store, Twit Palace. The tension escalates when Sara's father and Claire's ex-husband loses his battle with cancer, leaving Sara resenting her mother for tethering her to a life devoid of freedom and bereft of a final farewell to her father. In a defiant act of reconnection with her late father, Sara embarks on an unsanctioned journey, intending to honor their cherished weekend fishing retreat at Lac-St-Jean in the Laurentides, a place imbued with her childhood memories. Arriving at the Laurentide Lodge, she encounters the Richard family, who operate the lodge: patriarch Real, and his two contrasting sons, Sebas, the charm-wielding opportunist and Daniel, a directionless individual who habitually evades his duties. Sara's past collides with the present when she and Daniel discover their shared history as elementary school classmates. Despite their initial antagonism rooted in their past, they find solace in their mutual sense of loneliness and loss, leading to an unexpected bond. However, Sara's newfound relationship with Daniel plunges her into the midst of an ongoing conflict between the Richard brothers and a pair of elusive poachers operating on the expansive lodge property. As she navigates this uncharted territory, Sara must confront her past, her emotions, and her place in this unexpected wilderness drama.
