Plot

In the shadowy era of the Argentinian dictatorship in 1977, Captain Tomás Kóblic, a seasoned pilot for the nation's navy, finds himself at a crossroads of conscience and duty. Haunted by an order he cannot obey, he abandons his post, plunging into the life of a fugitive. Kóblic seeks refuge in a quaint southern town, a place seemingly untouched by the brutal regime, only to find that danger lurks even in the most unassuming corners. The town's law is governed by Sheriff Velarde, a wolf in the guise of a shepherd, whose corrupt ties to the military taint the tranquility of this sanctuary. Velarde, a skeptic by nature and a tyrant by choice, sees Kóblic not as a weary stranger but as an unsettling disruption to his unchallenged rule. A tense cat-and-mouse game ensues between the new arrival and the marshal, with each man's resolve being tested in this battle of wits and wills. As Kóblic comes to terms with the fact that his past cannot be so easily outrun, he also acknowledges that he cannot leave the town's inhabitants under the oppressive thumb of Velarde. Thus, he finds himself on a dangerous path, not just to secure his own survival, but to ensure justice prevails in this small corner of a country held hostage by its own military might. Kóblic's flight from the air force evolves into a fight for freedom, painting the harsh reality of a nation gripped by a dictatorship and the resilience of a man challenged by tyranny.
