King of the Ants (2003)

In the sprawling cityscape of Los Angeles, a wandering handyman, Sean Crawley, crosses paths with the enigmatic electrician, Duke Wayne, while on a routine painting job. Over beers and casual talk, an unlikely bond is forged, leading to Duke offering Sean a peculiar job opportunity that entwines their lives with the city's darker underbelly. Sean is introduced to Ray Matthews, a corrupt real estate tycoon under investigation by City Hall's diligent accountant, Eric Gatley. Ray, in a desperate bid to stay one step ahead, hires Sean to keep tabs on Eric's every move. Amid the shadows and secrets, Sean finds himself drawn to Eric's wife, Susan, an innocent beauty who unknowingly becomes a key player in this dangerous game. When Ray ups the stakes, offering Sean a staggering $13,000 to eliminate Eric, Sean reluctantly agrees. He executes the deadly assignment but cleverly swipes Ray's dossier before fleeing the scene.
