Kill the Messenger (2014)

The true story of journalist Gary Webb's investigation into the CIA's operations feels like a pulp adventure story. A lead from one of Webb's informants leads him to discover a rather sinister operation being performed by American intelligence — importing massive amounts of crack cocaine to America's poor and predominantly black communities as a way of funding revolutionary troops in Nicaragua. But once he reveals the information, his whole world is thrown into chaos. To many in the CIA, Webb is now a clear and present danger — and they're willing to leverage everything they have to ruin him and his family.
