In the heart of the Gupta household, Nirmala Gupta reigns supreme, her iron-fisted approach to authority both feared and obeyed by her family. Despite the stifling atmosphere, her family carries out her commands diligently, in a constant effort to stay on her good side. However, the dynamics of the household are thrown into disarray when her second son introduces a new member to the family - his wife, Anju.
Anju's sister, Manju, arrives for a short stay at the Gupta residence, welcomed by all except the stern matriarch, Nirmala. Meanwhile, Nirmala's third son finds himself irresistibly drawn to the vivacious Manju, with marriage on his mind. But Manju, perturbed by Nirmala's dictatorial rule over the family, firmly believes that the Gupta household is in dire need of change.
