Impulse (1990)

In the gritty underbelly of Los Angeles, Lottie Mason, a hardened detective, masquerades as a streetwalker and junkie, ensnaring unsuspecting clients and drug dealers in the vice-squad's net, led by the morally ambiguous Lt. Joe Morgan. Struggling with the trauma of a past killing and wrestling with mounting debts, Lottie seeks solace in therapeutic sessions with a police psychologist. Her life takes a more complicated turn when she becomes involved with Stan, a District Attorney, in a passionate affair born out of mutual attraction and dangerous circumstances. Lottie's life teeters on the edge of chaos as she narrowly escapes death on an assignment. Disoriented and shaken, she finds herself in a bar while her car gets repaired. Unaware of the whirlwind about to engulf her life, she crosses paths with the suave, yet sinister criminal, Tony Perón, the very man Stan has been hunting. Tony, oblivious to her true identity, entices her to his opulent home with a lucrative offer she can't resist. Once there, regret seizes her, and she desperately seeks an escape route. However, she becomes an unwitting witness to Tony's brutal execution. In her panic, she anonymously alerts the police, discovering in the process, a key to a locker containing one million dollars stolen from vengeful drug dealers. As the police scramble to identify the mysterious woman who called them, Lottie finds herself ensnared in a moral dilemma. Should she take the money and run or stay true to the badge she wears? Amidst corrupt colleagues, broken relationships, and deadly criminals, Lottie is caught in a high-stakes game of deception and desire, where every decision could be her last.
