Plot
In the heartwarming comedy of Import-Export, love defies cultural barriers and navigates uncharted territories. Jan is enraptured by Jasmin, but a prearranged marriage to her Pakistani cousin, soon to arrive in Norway, stands in their way. Under the guise of gathering material for an immigrant-focused thesis, Jan secures employment at the store run by Jasmin's father, Allahditta, and her brother-in-law, Yousaf.
In an unexpected alliance, Jan and Yousaf help each other navigate their individual challenges - Yousaf guides Jan through the conversion to Islam to win over Jasmin, while Jan aids Yousaf in acing his taxi driver's test. Concurrently, Jan delicately attempts to shift Allahditta's deep-seated disapproval of mixed marriages.
Import-Export is a delightful exploration of the cultural chasm between Pakistani and Norwegian societies, using humor and a generous spirit to address these challenges. This comedic gem illuminates the complexities of love, tradition, and acceptance, weaving a tale that is as engaging as it is thought-provoking.
