The Big Sick (2017)

Pakistani-born Kumail is close to becoming a great stand-up comedian. He meets and falls in love with Emily, whose sudden illness leads to her being in a coma. Kumail must balance his career, dealing with Emily's illness and dodging his traditional family's desire to set up an arranged marriage with an eligible partner. At the same time, he is at a pivotal point in life, and must decide who he is and what he really believes. This young man's journey of self-appreciation in a time of tragedy will lead to many discoveries.
