Plot

In the wake of World War II, Britain is a stage for cunning plots and power plays, with a missile company's fate hanging in the balance. Within this turbulent landscape, we meet the sly Bertram Tracepurcel (Dennis Price), who has a grand scheme to secure an Arab arms contract for his company, only to instigate a strike that would skyrocket his partner Sidney De Vere Cox's (Sir Richard Attenborough) profits. At the heart of this intricate plot is Tracepurcel's unsuspecting nephew, Stanley Windrush (Ian Carmichael). Fresh from the war with dreams of a prosperous business career, Stanley finds himself thrust into the world of labor, starting from the lowest rung. Little does he know, he's a pawn in Bertram's machinations, placed on the shop floor with the sole intention of stirring up union troubles. As Stanley grapples with the harsh realities of the workforce, he crosses paths with the steadfast shop steward, Fred Kite (Peter Sellers). Known for his staunch defense of workers' rights, Kite unwittingly becomes a key player in the brewing storm. The management and trade union alike manipulate Stanley, using him as a tool in their bitter struggle for power. As the tensions rise and stakes get higher, the unfolding events take everyone by surprise. It's a whirlwind of power, deceit, and unexpected alliances, where trouble is guaranteed, but perhaps not in the way Bertram and Sidney had planned. "I'm All Right Jack" is a satirical comedy that takes a humorous, yet insightful look at postwar industrial relations, painted across a backdrop of corporate intrigue and individual ambition.
