Plot

In the heart of Cardiff, Wales, the mundane life of Olivia, a teenage girl delivering newspapers for the South Wales Echo, is set to change when an unexpected visitor arrives. This visitor is none other than her estranged father, a faded 80's pop icon whose fame had burnt out as quickly as a shooting star. This unexpected twist of fate is the result of a forgotten weekend love affair at the peak of his stardom. His sudden appearance in the tranquil Welsh town stirs up past emotions and disrupts the quiet life of his former lover. Yet, this reunion sparks a flame within Olivia, igniting a passion for music that has lain dormant. 'I'll Be There' is a charming, offbeat comedy that explores the unexpected intersections of love, music, and family. It follows the journey of a washed-up pop star, once lost in the harsh glare of the limelight, who finds a new direction and purpose in life through his newly discovered daughter. Against her mother's wishes, Olivia is inspired to tread the path her father once walked, embarking on a musical journey of her own. This is a tale of second chances, of dreams reborn, and of a bond that proves blood truly is thicker than water.
