Ricki and the Flash (2015)

Obsessed with a dream that glimmers with the glamour of rock 'n roll fame, Linda, better known by her stage name Ricki, left her conventional life and family behind in a daring pursuit of stardom. Her life now dances to the rhythm of her rock band's regular gigs at a modest bar in between shifts as a cashier. But her dream remains a frustrating mirage, her fame elusive and her pockets empty. In the midst of her struggle, an unexpected call echoes from her past. Her ex-husband Pete, a remnant of the life she once knew, urges her to return to Indianapolis. Their daughter Julie, entangled in the throes of a disastrous divorce and a failed suicide attempt, is in desperate need of her mother's support. Compelled by a maternal instinct and a chance at redemption, Ricki abandons her meager stage, trading it for the raw, emotional battleground of her fractured family.
