Plot

In the heart of India's arid lands, where drought has crippled peasant life, young Chhotu finds his world uprooted. Abandoned by his mother at his Uncle Bhati's tea stall on the outskirts of a bustling city, Chhotu takes on the new identity of Kalam, inspired by the life of the self-made Indian president, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Resourceful and quick-witted, Kalam effortlessly outwits his uncle's adult assistant, injecting his youthful exuberance into the mundane tea stall. His charm and intelligence catch the attention of a lonely prince, now confined within the grandeur of a converted palace hotel. An unlikely friendship blossoms between the two boys, separated by lineage but bound by their shared sense of solitude. "I Am Kalam" is an evocative tale of survival against insurmountable odds. It paints a vibrant panorama of the human spirit's resilience while underlining the urgent necessity for the education of underprivileged children. The film is not just a narrative but a beacon of hope, kindling an ambition to enlighten the impoverished, and a testament to the transformative power of education. Drawing from the life of the former Indian president, it aims to inspire the marginalized to dream beyond their circumstances and seek a brighter future for their children.
