Homegrown (1998)

In the serene stretches of Northern California, Jack, Carter, and Harlan, a trio of charmingly clumsy layabouts, find themselves in the profitable employ of Malcolm, an expert cultivator of the state's most controversial crop - marijuana. However, the tranquility of their existence is shattered when Malcolm unexpectedly meets his end at the hands of an unknown adversary. In a whirlwind of confusion and ambition, the unseasoned threesome decides to step into Malcolm's shoes, taking the reins of the booming business. Their languid days tending to the fields of cannabis, though, have done little to prepare them for the cutthroat industry they've brazenly ventured into. They soon find themselves entangled in a murky underworld of deception, treachery, and peril, struggling to find buyers for a stash worth millions. As they dive deeper into this dangerous realm, the reality of their predicament becomes glaringly evident - they're swimming in waters far too deep. Yet, fueled by an insatiable greed and mounting paranoia, retreat is no longer an option. The plant they once nurtured with care now propels them down a path they cannot turn back from.
