On the cusp of Thanksgiving, Claudia Larson, a forty-year-old singleton from Chicago, finds herself grappling with a cascade of unfortunate events - losing her job, a misguided romantic entanglement with her soon-to-be ex-boss, and the revelation that her teenaged daughter, Kitt, plans to celebrate the holiday with her boyfriend rather than at home. With her world already in a spiral, Claudia must brace herself for the impending holiday rendezvous at her overbearing parents' home in Baltimore.
