Hockey Night (1984)

In the wake of a marital separation, Alice Yarrow and her two daughters, Cathy and Laura, trade the bustling urban life of Toronto for the tranquility of Parry Sound, a small town where Alice has secured a teaching position. Amidst the upheaval, fourteen-year-old Cathy Yarrow faces more than just the challenge of adjusting to new surroundings. She yearns for more than just the companionship of her Toronto-obsessed friend, Evelyn, and seeks to immerse herself in the town's fabric by continuing her passion for ice hockey as a goalie. His business, "Mr. Lumber," thrives on stereotypical male machismo, and he fears that Cathy's inclusion in the team may prove unfavorable for his bottom line.
