Plot

In the desolate heart of Mexico, 1949, the small town of Pueblo is rocked by a revolt. The citizens, pushed to the edge by their mayor's rampant abuse of power, retaliate with a vengeance that leaves the political seat vacant. The Governor, in a desperate bid to regain control, appoints Juan Vargas, a humble landfill worker and former member of the Revolutionary Institutional Party (PRI), as the new Mayor. Vargas, an everyman with the best intentions at heart, steps into his new role with a resolve to bring about the party's promised era of modernity, peace, and progress. However, as he grapples with the insidious tentacles of political life, he stumbles upon the intoxicating allure of power and the dark depths of corruption it harbors. This realization sends Vargas spiraling down a dangerous path, and like a moth drawn to a flame, he succumbs to the ruthless world of political ambition. Armed with his pistol and a growing appetite for authority, Vargas undergoes a chilling transformation. The once humble janitor morphs into a tyrant, his reign casting a dark shadow over the town. As Vargas revels in his newfound power, he becomes the embodiment of the very corruption he once vowed to eradicate. His reign of terror, fueled by betrayal and corruption, descends upon Pueblo, marking him as the most notorious Mayor in the town's history. In a world where power is the ultimate aphrodisiac, will the town ever escape the iron grip of Herod's Law?
