Plot

Amidst the sweltering heat of the year's hottest day in Oslo, the lives of diverse strangers mysteriously intertwine in an intricate dance of fate and destiny in the movie, "Hawaii, Oslo". The narrative follows Frode and Milla, a couple on the precipice of joy and despair as they anticipate the birth of their first child, tragically predicted to live only a fleeting moment in time. Parallel to their story, we delve into the despairing world of Bobbie-Pop, a once celebrated singer now consumed by the desolate echoes of his past, spiraling towards the precipice of self-destruction. In a local tavern named 'Hawaii', we find Leon, a kleptomaniac tormented by institutionalization, yearning for Åsa, the woman he made a decade-old promise to marry. His world collides with that of his brother, Trygve, who, despite the appearance of fetching Leon for his birthday celebration, harbors a desire for freedom and dreams of escaping to the sun-kissed beaches of Hawaii, the American state, during his brief prison furlough. Enveloping these disparate tales of hope, despair, and longing is the ethereal presence of Vidar, Leon's companion at the institution. Gifted with an ability to perceive what remains unseen to others, Vidar might hold the key to their redemption, but will he be able to save himself? "Hawaii, Oslo" is a poignant exploration of intertwined destinies and the human yearning for salvation. As the paths of these strangers intersect and unravel, the film delves into an immersive narrative, painting a vibrant portrait of life, loss, and the tantalizing possibility of miracles amidst despair.
