Harriet (2019)

A dramatization of the life of American hero Harriet Tubman who helped hundreds of slaves escape The South to find freedom. Tubman herself escaped from slavery. Born in 1822 and raised in cruel conditions where she was regularly whipped and beaten, Tubman fled her Maryland plantation and found freedom in Philadelphia. She began working with the Union Army as a scout and spy. She also developed a thousand-mile network of safe houses and anti-slavery activists that became the famous Underground Railroad. A serious head injury inflicted upon Tubman by slave masters caused her a lifetime of severe headaches and hypersomnia.
