Plot

In the grayscale world of Solange, laughter has become an alien concept. Her once vibrant life is now reduced to a monotonous routine of knitting and housework; her appetite has dwindled to a whisper, and her voice has followed suit. Amidst the ebb of her joy, she often succumbs to fainting spells, her silent cries for help. Desperate to revive the fading colors in his wife's existence, Raoul, her husband, introduces Stephane into their lives, a stranger with a love for Mozart and an obsession with order, hoping his presence as her lover might spark some much-needed vitality. However, despite the symphonies filling their home and the tidiness that has become its new normal, Solange remains cocooned in her melancholy. The unanimous consensus, from the couple's vegetable vendor neighbor to their closest friends, is that the sound of a child's laughter is what Solange needs. Yet, the prospect of motherhood eludes her, despite her attempts with both lovers. In a twist of fate, the trio find themselves navigating the chaos of a children's summer camp. Here, they cross paths with Christian, an extraordinarily mature 13-year-old, the son of a local factory manager. It is within this youthful milieu and through Christian's wisdom beyond his years, that Solange rediscovers her laughter, painting her world once again with the vibrant colors of joy.
