Plot

A clever and vibrant satire of "Shakespeare in Love," "George Lucas in Love" dives into the whimsical quest of a young George Lucas, played by Martin Hynes, as he grapples with writer's block in the midst of trying to complete his final screenplay for the USC Film School in 1967. With a ticking clock threatening his graduation, Lucas stumbles through his days, desperate for inspiration. The story thrusts the eventual master storyteller to the forefront, examining the humorous yet captivating journey of his creative process. It's during this time that Lucas encounters a constellation of colorful characters, their identities hinting at the iconic figures that would later inhabit the Star Wars saga. Among them is Marion, portrayed by Lisa Jakub, whose hair is styled in distinctive buns reminiscent of a galaxy far, far away. She becomes Lucas's very own "Leia," encouraging him to tap into his experiences and emotions, to write what he truly knows and feels. "George Lucas in Love" is a captivating exploration of the 'true' origins of the Star Wars saga, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and the people around Lucas inspire a story that would transcend time and space. It's a delightful tale of love, creativity, and the power of inspiration, sure to charm Star Wars enthusiasts and cinema lovers alike.
