Plot

In the vibrant heart of Barcelona, we meet Cassandra, a secluded American writer, weaving her tales in solitude. Her quiet life is interrupted by a cryptic plea from a decidedly glamorous stranger, Frankie. Cloaked in a flamboyant red cape and matching pumps, Frankie seeks Cassandra's aid in finding her husband to sign some crucial documents. But Frankie's story, much like her flamboyantly red facade, is rife with deception. The elusive husband morphs into a woman, the important papers dissolve into a bitter child custody battle, and Frankie's ostentatious identity itself crumbles to reveal a false front. Undeterred, Cassandra delves deeper into this convoluted mystery, initially driven by the allure of her promised fee. As layers of lies are peeled back, Cassandra finds herself embroiled in helping not just Frankie, but her ex-spouse and their child as well. As she wades through the labyrinth of deception, Cassandra finds herself inching closer to her own liberation - the completion of her long-stalled novel and the mending of a fractured relationship in her own life. Gaudi Afternoon is a vibrant cocktail of mystery and self-discovery, painted on the colourful canvas of Barcelona.
