Gamer (2009)

In the future, the line between video games and the real world have blurred. Death row convicts are thrown into death matches that feel like twitch shooters translated into the real world. It's a future form of entertainment that resembles the gladiatoral combat of yore. The twist is that the convicts aren't in control of their own actions. Instead, they're manipulated by gamers. And freedom is promised to any avatar that can survive 30 different matches within the game. It's a feat that's never been accomplished before, but John "Kable" Tillman is close. As he inches closer to earning his freedom, he'll discover that the people in charge of the game don't play fair.
