In the shadowy corners of an unfamiliar town, Baron Frankenstein embarks on a journey to join forces with Dr. Brandt, a fellow scientist, with whom he has been exchanging letters. Upon arriving, he is met with a shocking revelation - Dr. Brandt now resides in a mental institution, his sanity shattered beyond recognition. As fate would have it, Frankenstein finds refuge in a quaint boarding house, managed by the charming Anna, who is betrothed to Karl, a doctor working at the same asylum where Dr. Brandt is confined. When Frankenstein uncovers Karl's illicit activities involving stolen drugs, he seizes the opportunity to manipulate both Karl and Anna into becoming his unwilling assistants. Driven by desperation and a relentless desire to unearth a secret that Dr. Brandt was about to reveal to him, Frankenstein resolves to kidnap the mentally unstable doctor. His audacious plan? To transplant Dr. Brandt's brain into another body, hoping to extract the coveted secret from the depths of his mind.
