From afar, Tomas and Ebba and their two young children, Vera and Harry, personify the perfect modern nuclear family. They are the embodiment of the affluent Swedish upper-middle class, vacationing at a French ski resort for a five-day escape from the pressures of work and the routine. The family indulges in pleasant ski sessions, poses for resort photographers, and even shares gentle cuddles on their hotel suite's king-sized bed. Yet, the veneer of familial bliss begins to crack when they cross paths with Charlotte, a woman enjoying a solo respite away from her own children and her open marriage, a lifestyle choice that leaves Ebba puzzled.
