Follow That Bird (1985)

In the vibrant, whimsical world of Sesame Street, the endearing and unconventional Big Bird enjoys a blissful existence alongside his cherished friends - Oscar, Bert, Ernie, and the insatiable Cookie Monster. This serene life, however, is interrupted when the stern social worker Miss Finch, who believes in the supremacy of kindred ties, forces Big Bird to relocate to the quaint town of Ocean View, Illinois. There, he is to reside with the Dodos, a zany family of birds, presumed to be his "own kind". Despite the comforts of familial life, Big Bird finds himself a square peg in a round hole, struggling to assimilate into the Dodo's peculiar lifestyle. A week of feeling like an outsider, coupled with a deep-seated longing for his former home, propels Big Bird to embark on a daring journey back to Sesame Street, his true home. Unbeknownst to him, the news of his departure sends ripples through Sesame Street, prompting his loyal friends to launch their own cross-country adventure in hopes of finding him. As Big Bird meanders towards home, he remains blissfully ignorant of the perils lurking nearby. Miss Finch, intent on bringing him back to his assigned family, is hot on his tail, while the Sleaze Brothers, a duo with their own devious intentions, also have their sights set on him. In this heartwarming tale of friendship and belonging, Big Bird must navigate a labyrinth of challenges, while his friends race against time to reach him before he stumbles into trouble.
