Fast Freddie, the Widow and Me (2011)

Jonathan Donald, a haughty and affluent car salesman, finds himself in deep water after a reckless drink-driving incident lands him with a 60-hour community service sentence at the Moonbeam Club, a haven for spirited youngsters. With a veneer of scorn masking his initial interactions, he clashes with Laura, the young, resolute widow running the club. However, a lavish shopping spree of designer clothes helps him to win the hearts of the kids, striking a special bond with 'Fast' Freddie, a bright-eyed teenager battling a fatal kidney disease. Known for his prowess at video games, Freddie, a product of the foster system, faces his last Christmas. Jonathan, aided by Laura's compassionate mother Julia, embarks on a strenuous quest to find Freddie's birth mother. When she rejects the opportunity for reconciliation, Jonathan and Julia hatch a heartwarming plan to give Freddie a family for Christmas. They hire individuals to play the roles of Freddie's long-lost loved ones, ensuring his last Christmas is his most joyous. Jonathan's commitment to this cause costs him his job, but earns him Laura's admiration. Despite a few unexpected twists, Freddie's last days are filled with the knowledge that he is loved. Four months later, the Moonbeam Club, Laura, and Jonathan unite to give Freddie a grand farewell, one that beautifully encapsulates the power of love and friendship.
