Plot

In the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong, the peculiar Wu Zai-Jan is apprehended, his face an eerie canvas of stark white makeup. He finds himself in the grip of Inspector Han and his team, caught in a starkly lit interrogation chamber within the heart of the Police Department. Wu Zai-Jan, a man plagued by mental disability, confesses to the murder of one Cheng Fai, all the while labeling his captors as "wolves". Intrigued, the detectives follow this puzzling trail to Fai's domicile, only to discover him alive, rendering Wu's confession null. With their time wasted and their suspect's sanity questionable, they release Wu back into the city's sprawling labyrinth. Inspector Han, on the precipice of a promotion and wrestling with a crumbling marriage and a distant, autistic son, feels his life teetering on the precipice of chaos. Morning light brings a chilling revelation. Cheng Fai's lifeless body is discovered in a city park, his stomach a gruesome crypt for seven stones. Realization dawns on Han and his team - they had let a killer walk free. Their race begins, not only to solve the murder but to hide their previous day's blunder. As they delve deeper into this murky conundrum, they unmask a terrifying fact - their suspect is a deranged escapee from a mental hospital, linked inexplicably to an intern with a penchant for drawing. As fairy-tale-inspired murders continue to strike fear into the heart of the city, Han and his team are caught in a desperate struggle against the ticking clock, aiming to halt the macabre dance of the Fairy Tale Killer.
