Plot

In the serenades of Paris, Lisa Hollis, an American lyricist, finds herself returning to reignite her singing career after a heart-wrenching split from her composer husband, Charlie Hunter, three years prior. Their love story was a symphony composed of shared passion for music, but their professional discordance led to a bitter dissonance, shattering their harmony. Still nursing her emotional wounds, Lisa is thrown into a whirlwind when movie producer Moshe Mosek offers her a career-defining opportunity: to write a song for his upcoming film. The twist in the melody? She has only four days and her estranged ex-partner Charlie to complete it. Through cunning maneuvering, their agent, Marion, orchestrates a reunion. Charlie, who has since abandoned music for a real estate venture with his new fiancée, Julie Sanson, hesitantly agrees to this short-term partnership. Julie's property, situated amidst the rustic charm of the French countryside, becomes their makeshift studio. However, Julie's support comes with a twinge of discord, as she struggles with the thought of Charlie reuniting with his ex-wife while they are amidst pitching their project to a potential investor, M. Boulanger, and planning their imminent wedding. Added to this tumultuous ensemble is the inexpert Donnie Parks, Moshe's nephew, thrust upon them as an assistant courtesy of familial ties. Amidst the shifting dynamics and distractions on the farmhouse, Lisa and Charlie embark on their creative journey. Their challenge is to weave a song, but in doing so, they must face the music of their past, navigate through their present, and decipher what their future holds. As they strum the chords and pen the lyrics, they explore if their magic can resurface, whether it be professional or personal. This weekend in the French countryside may just be the crescendo of their lives, a chance to write one last song together, and perhaps, a chance to rewrite their own story.
