Plot

For Ned and Jeannie, a couple weathering 19 years of marriage, the day starts like any other, but swiftly unravels into a kaleidoscope of challenges that test the fabric of their family. Ned grapples with the eccentricities of his boss, Garrett, at the cable show he writes for, while navigating the turbulent waters of acceptance as his older son, Jonah, comes out as gay and expresses his desire to attend a high school LGBT prom. Simultaneously, Jeannie finds her professional life put on pause as she shoulders the responsibility of caring for her ailing, cantankerous father, Ernie, who is reluctantly welcomed into their home. As Jeannie juggles chauffeuring her sons, attending recitals, tending to her father's needs, and maintaining the household, Ned faces a distraction in the form of Robin, an uninhibited, unattached colleague tasked with helping him rewrite a script, offering a tantalizing prospect of no-strings-attached fun. As the day unfolds, Ned finds himself unwittingly forming a connection with his co-worker while attempting to repair his relationship with Jonah. All the while, Jeannie strives to reconnect with her estranged father even as death looms ominously over Ernie. The family finds itself in a precarious dance with destiny as they face the predatory overtures of a 'chicken hawk' circling Jonah, the seductive allure of Robin ensnaring Ned, and the grim specter of mortality stalking Ernie. In the face of these trials, will this family crumble, or will they discover that if they can endure days like these, they can withstand any storm that life hurls their way? This is not just 'Every Day' - it is a poignant exploration of love, acceptance, and the resilience of the familial bond.
