Plot

In the quaint seaside town of southern Taiwan, diligent young Jonathan (Bryant Chang) is chosen by his teacher to keep an eye on his unruly classmate, Shane (Joseph Chang). This innocent task evolves over the course of a decade into a deep friendship, with Jonathan pursuing academia and Shane discovering his passion on the basketball court. Their lives take an unexpected turn when a captivating schoolgirl from Hong Kong, Carrie (Kate Yeung), joins their school. Carrie, drawn to Jonathan's quiet intellect, convinces him to accompany her on a clandestine day trip to Taipei. Her clumsy attempt to lure him in a shabby love hotel backfires, leading her to perceive the intricate bond between Jonathan and Shane as something more than just friendship. Her conclusion? Jonathan, her love interest, might be in love with his best friend, Shane. Shane, initially boorish in Carrie's eyes, charms her into becoming his girlfriend on the condition that he secures admission to a university. As Jonathan grapples with his sexual identity and Shane tries to conceal his newfound affection for Carrie, the trio struggles to maintain the façade of their complex relationships. Yet, the truth has a knack for revealing itself, compelling each of them to reconsider their feelings and relationships under a drastically new light. This tender tale of friendship, love, and self-discovery is a journey that unravels the intricate threads of their lives, forever altering their path.
