Plot

In the bustling cityscape of Hong Kong, we meet Fang Pao (Bruce Li), a young man brimming with kung fu prowess but cornered by poverty. His life takes a turn when he's spotted in a desperate brawl by a wealthy businessman, Mr. Chen, who offers him a job as his personal chauffeur. The offer is a ray of hope for Fang Pao, whose uncle serves as Mr. Chen's gardener and a close friend as the industrialist's bodyguard. However, the plot thickens when Fang Pao is hauled away for police questioning and Mr. Chen is arrested in Bangkok, charged with drug smuggling. The clock starts ticking as Fang Pao must untangle the web of deception surrounding his boss's arrest before the gavel comes down on his life. In the midst of the chaos, Mr. Chen's second wife, Dana Tsen, appears more concerned about her potential inheritance than her husband's impending execution. Adding another layer of intrigue, Jimmy, Mr. Chen's supposed ally, is revealed to be Mrs. Chen's clandestine lover, while their lawyer, after a heated argument with Mrs. Chen, seems to lose interest in the case. Enter Mr. King, a mysterious associate from Bangkok, who extends a lifeline to the unemployed Fang Pao, offering him a new job. But this is no act of charity - it's a cunning attempt to bribe Fang Pao into silence. As Fang Pao inches closer to uncovering the hidden opium stash in Hong Kong, the stakes rise not just for him, but also for his family and Mr. Chen's innocent child. The closer he gets to the truth, the more perilous his quest becomes, turning his world into a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
